Billboard advertising in Manchester
Where Manchester's billboards are, what they cost, and a twin sided LED advertising van that covers the city for a day with no travel charge. From £595 a day.
Manchester billboards: where the main sites are
Manchester has one of the strongest out of home markets outside London. The biggest roadside sites line the routes in and out: the Mancunian Way and Princess Road, Chester Road past Old Trafford, Oldham Road and Great Ancoats Street, Regent Road and the M602 approach from Salford, and Bury New Road to the north. In the centre, large digital screens around Piccadilly Gardens, the Arndale, Deansgate and the Printworks cover the shoppers and the evening crowd, while the Trafford Centre and MediaCityUK carry screens of their own.
What billboards cost in Manchester
Manchester is noticeably cheaper than London for the same format. In 2026 a Northern operator was quoting 48 sheets in Manchester at £550 to £750 per site for a two week cycle, against close to £1,000 in London, with 6 sheet panels at roughly £470 to £630. Digital roadside slots in the North were coming in at around £335 to £450 per site per week in rotation. Longer bookings bring the per cycle rate down, to around 85% for eight weeks and about 73% for six months, and printing, artwork and VAT are on top. Our billboard cost guide covers every format.
The moving alternative
Our advertising van reaches Manchester in about an hour from Liverpool, so there is no travel charge. For £595 a day it runs both screens on a route we plan around your audience: Deansgate and Spinningfields for the office crowd, Market Street and the Arndale for shoppers, Oxford Road and Fallowfield for students, the Northern Quarter in the evening, and Old Trafford, the Etihad, the AO Arena or the arena at the Etihad Campus when the crowds arrive.
- Book a day, not a fortnight. Billboards are sold in two week cycles. The van is booked by the day.
- Be where the crowd is. A static site waits for traffic to pass. The van drives to the match, the concert or the launch.
- Cover the whole of Greater Manchester. Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside and Wigan on one booking.
- Change the message on the day. Different adverts for different areas, with no reprint.
Which should you choose?
If you need a constant presence on a busy road for several weeks, a billboard is still hard to beat. If you need impact on a particular day, in a particular part of the city, or you want to test outdoor advertising without a long commitment, the van is cheaper and more flexible. Many Manchester campaigns use both.
Questions
How much does billboard advertising cost in Manchester?
A standard 48 sheet in Manchester was being quoted at around £550 to £750 per site for two weeks in 2026, before printing and VAT. Our advertising van is £595 a day with driver and fuel included and no travel charge to Manchester.
Is there a travel charge for Manchester?
No. Manchester is about an hour from our base in Liverpool, so it is covered with no travel charge and we can be on route first thing.
Can the van work Old Trafford, the Etihad or the arenas?
Yes. The van holds a legal position on public roads near the stadium or arena as crowds arrive and leave, and we plan around match day road closures. We cannot enter club or venue land without permission.
