Guide
How much does mobile billboard advertising cost in the UK?
A plain guide to UK mobile billboard and advertising van rates in 2026, with real published prices, what pushes the cost up and how to get better value.
The short answer
Hiring a digital advertising van with a driver in the UK typically costs between £595 and £1,300 a day. Multi day and weekly bookings bring the daily rate down. Printed banner vans are usually a little cheaper per day than digital vans, but you also pay for printing and fitting the posters.

| Digital ad van, twin screen, national operator | About £1,195 for one day, falling to about £955 a day for 7 days or more |

| Printed banner van, 48 sheet | From about £625 for one day, plus printing |
| Our twin sided LED van, based in Liverpool | From £595 a day |
Some operators were also adding a temporary fuel surcharge of up to 20% on top of their published rates, so always ask whether fuel is included.
What affects the price
- Travel. The further the van has to come, the more you pay. Booking a local operator saves money.
- Number of days. Most companies cut the daily rate for 2 to 6 days and again for a week or more.
- Screen size and number of sides. Three sided and very large screens cost more.
- Hours on route. A standard day is usually up to eight hours. Longer days cost extra.
- City charges. London Congestion Charge, ULEZ and clean air zones in some cities can be added at cost.
- Artwork. If you need the advert designed, that is usually a separate charge.
Extra charges to check before you book
- Is fuel included, or is there a surcharge?
- Is the driver included, and are breaks covered?
- How many miles or hours are included in the day?
- Are clean air zone and congestion charges included or added?
- Is there a charge for changing the advert during the campaign?
- Do you get photos or a report showing where the van went?
How to get better value
Book a company close to where your campaign runs, book several days together rather than separate single days, and pair nearby towns on the same booking. Keep the advert simple so it works at a glance, and add a short web address or QR code so you can measure the response.
Questions
What is the cheapest way to hire a mobile billboard?
Book a local operator so you are not paying for long travel, book several days in a row for a lower daily rate, and supply your own artwork.
Is a mobile billboard cheaper than a roadside billboard?
For a short campaign, usually yes. Roadside billboards are normally booked in two week cycles and need printing, while an advertising van can be booked for a single day.
Do mobile billboard prices include VAT?
Most UK operators publish prices before VAT, so check whether the quote you are given includes it.
